My Creative Space

Still hooking along with my japanese pattern book working on the same dress that I decided to start over, after doing some research on hook sizes for japanese patterns.. but it's still looking a bit big. Maybe because it is suppose to be part of a layered look . We shall see....

Almost done with the front half and will start on the back just as soon as I get more yarn, this thing will be heavy duty. I am anxious to get it done and move on to my next project in the book. After I have fun taking pics of this one of course :)

Don't you forget to visit Kirsty and take a peek around at other creative spaces. You won't be dissapointed :)

Looks terrific so far. I have a friend who does some knitting from those books and she says that they tend to be big because that's just how they wear them. I think she did some practicing and finally got the right needles for her so they fit the way she likes. Either way I think you're going to love it.

The owner of an ample bosom, sadly such a project is never destined to hang from my own frame. It's looking a surefire beauty and I'm wasabi-green with 'jealous'.

I am a huge fan of grey yarn too and this looks stunning. I have only used amigurumi japanese patterns and so don't know about the hook sizings but I do hope it all works out for you....

I think it is looking great - love the colours. Does you pattern book have the little crochet diagrams? Now I have learnt to read them, a whole world of Japanese crochet has opened up to me!

Whoo, I can't say I've ever tackled a dress. That's ambitious, but I bet very satisfying when you're done. Good luck!

Looks like a great project, Amanda! I love those japanese books! I bought one for mum with crochet and she said they are very easy to follow even if you don't understand the language:)

You have such tenacity, I would have given up after the hook incident!I don't know where you get the time with a new house and babies and all. I would be exhausted. Good work. It looks great as well. xxNick

Are the knitting books in English or is it a guessing game like the sewing books?
