Keeping busy with the yarn.
I stumbled upon the Phildar magazines a few weeks ago and was smitten.
Of course I have no clue how to speak French but after drooling over them for a bit I noticed they had a few of the books in English..SCORE..
So I am working on my first pieced project ( a hooded sweater) for Sophie. Although I was worried it would be too small if I went with the 12 mos size and now the 18 mos is looking huge.
At least it will last her a bit..
And if you spy that little hat in the corner, it's a new pattern I am working on. The sizing is driving me bonkers but I am loving the effect so it's worth it.
This one is way to big for Sophie more of a 2T size but it should be an easy fix.
Oh and I wanted to ask for those who have made PDF patterns. What program do you use to write them up? I would really love to start offering patterns in PDF format but not sure how to go about it. So any info would be much appreciated. TIA
Hope you are having a productive week, we are enjoying the cooler weather and bouts of rain storms. A nice break from the insane heat of the past months...
Be sure to pop over to Kirsty's for the usual creative fun!

yay so happy i found ur blog! i have been making hats like crazy lately so im glad im not the only one addicted to crocheting them!
I'm loving the colour combo. I sense this is going to be another amazing Amanda creation. xo
Grey and pink is such a lovely combination.
For .pdfs my IT dude husband has set up my laptop so that i can write the words and paste pics in a word doc first. Then using the print button - the drop down menu appears where I can choose to print to our normal printer or choose to convert the doc to a .pdf thus saving me having to learn the ins and outs of a new program. Very handy for me. Does that help you? I can ask him how he set it up if you're interested.
Its so hard to work out what size to make when creating the thing takes so long you don't want them to grow out of it in 5 minutes.
Loving the look of your space today.
Have a happy Thursday.
Love the colours, and the hat looks amazing.
Gorgeous - love the colours. I Spy IKEA too :-)
love the colors, they are goregous. You can download OpenOffice.org 3., it works very similar to Word, but gives you the option to save your documents as PDF and the program is free. Hope that helps!
beautiful colours!
oooh, i don't envy u with the sizing task. even with a pattern it's tricky!
great idea though :)
I know this is going to be great!!!
that hat does look very cute indeed, little dots joined together sound like my type of thing, apart from the fact that it looks terribly complicated!
love your colours for the hoodie as well :)
love the colours, its going to be great when its finished keep going your love it in the end ;-) Dee x
Oh yes I'd wear that hat too !
sweet hat, and great colour combo for the hoodie! i am curious about the pdf thing too! i made one recently and it's so jagged and not slick looking like all the others i see out there. oh well, i'll keep searching for answers and techniques :)
so sweet A!
there are lots of pdf converter type things on the net. just type it in and use one of them, although I think Word has an option to convert to pdf too?
I use a free pdf writer both at work and at home. Just prepare your page - including the pictures. Then you print to pdf - the software link appears in your printer window. The link to this FREE software is: www.cutepdf.com. Hope that works for you! I love it. In fact, I've copied a few of your patterns using it!
your new "creations" look gorgeous! i heart brown and pink together :) isn't phildar great?! my mum has millions of these, as she knit for my brother and i ; when we were small ; from them. and now i'm using them for my lovelies :)
The pink hat is gorgeous! You can download free PDF writers which will make a PDF from a word document through the print dialog. Or you can buy Adobe Acrobat Professional to print to PDF, but that's the expensive option. Hope that helps!
