I have to say there are a lot of upsides to being in the military along with "downs" of course. This week we are dealing with a major downside IMO...
Scott has a pretty bad case of Staph Infection it's not the first time he has had it since we have been here but they have decided to keep him in the hospital here on base to monitor it and to go in today and clean it out. Which basically means surgery because he is in so much pain. And they are not sure how deep it has traveled in his knee.
The down side??? Other then the actual infection and the fact that the main reason for this cruddy situation is due to this cruddy unclean location. Is that there really isn't anyone here for us. As far as family or friends. We have to maneuver 4 kids around a hospital stay and hope to be together at the appropriate times.
I am not a mom who asks anyone for help. Honestly other then a few occasions with family I have never had a "babysitter" So unless we are around family the full time care of the kiddos are on my hands. Which is just fine with me, until something like this comes up.
Anywho...It's just one of those days where I will be wishing some family members were like me and loved a good old fashioned 5hr road trip. So they could be close by. To be either with Scott when I can't or watch over the kids for a bit so I can.
But that's not the case so here and there and everywhere it is. Thankfully we live on post and the hospital is only a few miles away so there's an "up" I suppose..
Well I am gonna head out and check on the hubby. Please keep him in your prayers...

I know that's your life and you chose it and you knew the consequences of living away from home and and and and.... but when someone is sick, especially when that someone is one of the adults, it's OK to wish for some help. I have my fingers crossed that Scott recovers quickly and the kids look after you.
