I love this hat, it's so cute. I'm a total newbie, so please bear with me. :)

For the foundation row, I do a chain of 3, then a chain of 3 dc? So 6 stitches in total?

Then row 2: 2 dc in only the previous dc stitches, not the sc chain?

Adorable - perfect baby shower gift! @Lat - for the foundation row, you chain 3 stitches, then dc 3 times in the first chain you made (the 3rd chain from the hook). When you slip stitch to the 2nd chain, you end up with the very point of the kiss. Good luck!

are there directions for the cute little 'flower' on the hat? Thanks Margaret :)

The flower is a simple circle with a slip stitch across the top.. :)

Thanks Amanda. I made one - not perfect but getting close to yours :)

Such a cute hat! I do wish you could record how many stitches are at the end of each row. When I made the hat, it was a lot skinnier than yours and took me a lot more rows of increasing to get 15 inch circumference. Row 7 appears to be a decreasing row? Sorry to be a pain!!

I was also wonding the number of stitches at the end of each row. My hat is a lot skinnier than it should be. Thanks

Ok so I did row 7 as (1dc, 2dc) repeat. Then I did row 8 as (1dc in next 2, 2dc) repeat. Then I did 5 rows of dc in each stitch. Then I did as row 12 & 13 say. And finished off. It came out the right size.

I also used simply soft yarn.

My hat is no where near big enough after row 7 :( I'm getting about 3 1/2 DC per inch, which would mean 52 DC, and I don't see how that's possible in the 7 rows. I'm not a great crocheter, but thanks for the pattern, it's at least getting me started on a Kiss hat!
