Twinkle stars...

Found a picture of these little stars on Pinterest.

 I originally couldn't find the pattern and created my own.

But after some searching I got it. It can be found HERE

For those of you that don't have Ravelry or you find the original pattern hard to follow here is my version

I used DK with F hook and the garland is just ch25 slip-stitch to attach star

 R1:start with loop on hook, ch1, puff stitch in first chain, ch2, puff stitch, ch2, puff stitch, ch2, puff stitch,ch2, puff stitch, ch2, slip stitch to top of first puff stitch.

    R2:ch3,2dc, ch2, 3dc in same space. 3dc,ch2,3dc in top of next puff stitch, repeat for all puff stitches, slip-stitch to starting chain.

    R3:3dc,ch3,3dc in first ch2 space. Sc in between the 3dc/3dc place. Repeat til end slip-stitch to top of first dc of row fasten off.

Tis the season for Crochet

I haven't had quite this big of a hooky bug in so long I am enjoying the ride.

As you can see I am obsessing over little projects. My sketch book and brain are overloaded 

with cute little ideas and since gifting handmade isn't as cliche as it used to be

I have been determined to gift to others what I consider

part of everyday life around here.

My crochet home

I will write up a little pattern for these houses today and post soon.

The ever famous nesting bowls, there are a million ways you can make them

one of my faves can be found HERE. 

I didn't work in spiral and I used cotton with an H hook 

but you get the point.

 Of course my favorite creation the go to gift beanie, Cherub Cheeks  and the green one? Well

I started to write a pattern for it but that thing is going to take some time

and major problem solving for different sizes so it might be a minute :)

I am sure you are all busy crafting away as well. Isn't it a wonderful and stressful time of year?

Rubble

We all have our favorite blogs, for me Myrtle & Eunice is on my top ten list. So it's no surprise that I had to play copy cat and work up the Rubble pattern. I just fell in love with the one she made for her daughter and although I procrastinated a bit I recently finished it and couldn't be happier. Oh and we couldn't stay in this lot for long. Sophie insisted there were monsters, you can see the apprehension all over her face haha.

Notes on sizing....This hat is stretchy and form fitting. Finished beanie from this pattern fits both my 2yr old and my 5yr old. If you switched to worsted yarn moved up to a J hook and add a few rows for length this could easily fit teens and adults. To make it fit toddlers row3 should be worked as dc, dc, 2dc so you will be starting with 20 instead of 30 dc for the body and shorten by a few rows. You could also increase stitches in row3 to make it bigger if you wanted to still work with I hook and sport yarn to make it bigger. And  you could decrease further in row3 to make baby sizes.

how to do fpdc

Stem

Row1 :Ch3, 4 hdc in first chain join to starting chain. (5)

Row2: Ch2, hdc in each hdc join

Repeat row 2 for a total of 5 rows

Row 6: 2dc in each hdc (10)

Row 7: Ch3, 2dc in next dc, dc, 2dc, repeat throughout row (15)

Row 8: Ch3 dc in same space, 2dc in each dc (30)

Body change color

Row1: Attach yarn in top of dc ch3. In same dc work fpdc. In all dc's throughout this row you will work a dc in top and a fpdc around same dc. Join to starting chain.(60)

Row2: Chain 3 work fpdc in first fpdc, dc in each normal dc (there are no increases in this row)

you will work evenly to corresponding fpdc's and dc's.

Row3-10: Repeat row 2 fasten off. (for 4T/5T add at least 1 extra row)

Trim change color

Row1 join new yarn in top of dc, ch1 and sc around join.

Row2 ch1, sc around, join. Fasten off.

Back

SS into chain loop. Ch3 work 4 dc's into the loop. Turn (5)

Ch3, dc in same ch space, dc across, 2 dc in previous rows turning chain. Turn (10)

Repeat row 3 for 4 (5)(6)(7)more rows. Fasten off.

1^st shoulder strap

SS into beginning ch8 loop.

Row1: Ch3, 3 dc in ring. Turn (4)

Row2: Ch3 work 3 dc across. Turn

Repeat Row2 til you have a total of 9 (10) (11) (12) rows. Fasten off

2^nd shoulder strap

Repeat 1^st shoulder strap. Do not fasten off

Front

Using working yarn from 2^nd strap turn and ch3

Row1: Dc in each dc, ch 12 (14,16,18), dc across 1^st straps dc's. Turn

Row2: Ch3, dc in each dc and each ch. Turn

Row3: Repeat Row 2

Row4: Ch3, dc in same space, dc across, 2dc in previous rows turning ch. Turn

Row5: 5-6 (5-7) (5-8) (5-9) Repeat row 4.

Body

Row1: With working yarn still on front piece and front/back together. Ch3, dc in first dc of back piece joining front and back.

• Dc across back.
• 2Dc in first dc on front piece when joining front and back on opposite end. Dc across.
• Dc in same space that the starting ch3 is and then slip stitch to the top of that ch3.
• Row 2-10 (2-12) (2-14) (2-15): Working in the round. ch3 work dc in each dc join to starting chain with slip stitch. Fasten off
